UTI and Ecoli

My Mum has always got a UTI and kidney infection, she goes on one antibiotic after the other, the doctors have told her that she has an ecoli infection. If this is the case then why do the anitbiotics not clear it up? What can she do to prevent getting them all the time?

It is possible that she has a structural abnormality of the upper urinary tract. It is therefore, important to consult an urologist for a possible BAP. This is a test where images are taken of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. This will indicate if there is a structural reason for her re-current infections.
