Hi Z

The South African National Blood Service does screen donated blood for blood-transfusion-transmittable infections e.g. HIV. If you are still concerned you can give them a call on (011) 761-9000.
Regarding your baby and yourself - Best would be to discuss your status with a doctor right away to ensure that you are taking the correct medication and that your baby will also be treated in the correct fashion right from the start - And don't despair: There are hope!
