This is a procedure involving a shaving off the lining of the womb under anaesthesia and is not the same as a scan. There are numerous indications for such a procedure including patients with bleeding disorders and also patients for whom there is suspicions of endometrial infection especially pelvic tuberculosis and also in cases were some form of pre-cancerous or cancerous changes are suspected.
