Underactive thyroid

Hi

Who can assist me with an eating plan for an underactive thyroid. I only weigh 55kg so no diet required. Thanks.

Dear Mandi
If you have an underactive thyroid you need to take thyroid hormone replacement therapy in the form of medications like Eltroxin which your dr will prescribe. It is not necessary to take all kinds of iodine supplements such as kelp because all the table salt in SA is fortified with iodine and you should be ingesting more than enough for normal thyroid function.
