Uncontrolable itching.

Hallo Cyberdoc

I hope you are well.

Please help - I''m in the process of undergoing a colonoscopy as well as a gastroscopy to determine if I suffer from ulcerative colitis. Apart from the general complaints associated with this disorder I have suddenly developed a severe itching problem.

Symptoms would include intching on my arms, my legs, my face, back etc. No rash visible - more like a severe itch under my skin. I have caught myself scratching so hard that I leave scares. This is particularly severy at night times. I have changes my washing powder, my bed linen, my fabric softner, my toiletries - all to no avail.

Can this also be accosiated with my possible ulcerative colitis? My current symptoms are a moderate yellowing of the whites of my eyes, anemia, severe bouts of diarrhoea, back ache and unexplained joint pain and eye infections.

The Gastroenterologist will also be doing some test on my pancreas and liver.

Does this itching have part in my problems above or may this be something I need to additionally have investigated?

Thanks for a very informative forum!

Warm regards

The itching can be associated with the ulcerative colitis or pancreatic disease. Consult your doctor for a prescription for Aterax to alleviate the itching.
