TRIGESTERAL AND TRIPHASIL

HI DOC,
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE PILLS. i HAVE BEEN ALL MY LIFE ON TRIPHASIL AND NOW SUDDENLY THE CLINIC SAYS THAT THEY ARE PHASING OUT TRIPHASIL AND WHY IS THIS. I AM A BIT APPRIEHENSIVE TO TRY THE GENERIC THAT THEY CLAIM IT IS. YOUR THOUGHTS?

Generics have the same constituents as the original. After a while the original company's patent expires and other companies are then allowed to make the same formulation and call it by a differnt name.
