Transmission

Hi Doctor,

Thanks for your answer to question 1586. If there is no scab on healing skin, can HIV penetrate a blood clot? Furthermore, in order for HIV to be transmitted, must the opened wound contain blood (blood to blood)?

Thanks Doctor

HiDesire
The open wound need not contain blood - it can be dry or contain blood. Hiv is transmitted by contact to live tissue, so it won't penetrate a blood clot.
