Toodler''d thumb

Hi,my 3yr old daugther left tthumb is unable to flex up and down. Thr physhio managed to massage it, but after 2hrs, it reverted to abnormal position. The orthro paedic surgeon said she needs surgery to corect this. If the physhio managed to correct this with massaging , then is surgery necessary? The right thumb is also tending to go into asbnormal position but can be flexed. Whst is the cause of this?

Firstly,if the physio treatment only corrected the thumb for 2 hours it does not appear as if it is really successful. The cause of the abnormal position of the thumb will only be apparent after examining the child. Hand problems in a child is best dealt with by a hand specialist
