Dear Ronel
In general having an excess of calcium in the body is usually caused by an imbalance of parathyroid hormone, which primarily controls calcium metabolism. If you suffer from hyperparathyroidism then you will require medical treatment which your dr will provide. The other cause of excessive calcium levels in the blood and body, can be due to intake of calcium and vit D supplements far in excess of the RDAs. If you ingest 2000 mg or more of calcium and high doses of vit D then you may develop hypercalcaemia which can lead to excessive calcification in soft tissues, esp the kidneys (which can be fatal) and the formation of calcium kidney stones. If you are taking calcium and vit D supplement then please don't overdo you intake. Stick to the RDAs of 1000 mg of calcium and 10 microgram of vit D per day.
