Hi Doc,

My 6 year old son suffers from tonsilitis every 2-3 months....would you recommend removing them?

Dear Chabi

I would recommend having his tonsils removed, due to the fact that he is suffering from recurrent tonsillitis. At that rate he is having problems up to six times per year, which is a clear indication for a tonsillectomy.
The tonsils also have no value after the age of four years, so he is old enough for removal. You should see an ENT surgeon for an examination and to make a final desicion.
