Dear Kearabiloe

Post operative tonsillectomy pain can last from three to fourteen days, and nothing other than taking your pain medication regularly can rectify this. Adults seem to suffer more than children, and the reason for this is not clear. Food to avoid is different for every individual, but clearly foods with an acid base are more painfull to eat and should be avoided. (certain fruits, strong curries, foods containing chillies, etc.)
Andolex-C is a form of medication that contains a local anaesthetic for pain relief, as well as component to keep the mouth clean.
