tiny holes on finger nails

i''m 28yrs old and healthy. over the past few months i have noticed tiny holes on my finger nails. what is the cause and how can i treat it?

Pitting and splitting of the fingernails can be a sign of psoriasis (a skin disease that causes abnormal extra layers of the skin, especially over the elbows and knees). Consult a dermatologist for an examination and clear diagnosis.
