ticks

Morning, we bought a -|- er spaniel puppy on Saturday from a lady. she is 6 weeks old. After getting her we took her directly to our Vet to be checked out and to get her first shot. He gave her dewurming stuff and checked her haert beat and said she is just fine. He also put some flee drops on her. Later that day i found 3 ticks on her. On checking more closely we found about 10 more. Especially between her tows. We got rid of them, but I just want to find out. should we take her back to the Vet or will she be fine as she got her first injection. she' s very playfull and and runs arounds and keeps us on our tows. She is also eating and drinking fine no problems there. I' m just worried about those ticks. Thanks you, regards.

Dear Mina

Just take her back if she shows any signs of being unwell. You can spray her again with frontline if you are worried.

You should put monthly products like frontline on her to protect her from ticks. Dogs can die quickly from billary. The vacination does not protect agains tick diseases.

go to vet soonest - and discuss what is best for puppy againts ticks. Ticks can be carrier of tick diseases, and these can kill fast, so you need to protect your puppy with regular treatments.
