Thyroid and Pregnancy

Hi Doc,

I have a under active Thyroid and use Euthyrox 25mg and 50mg - one of each daily. Will there be problems with me or the baby if i get pregnant now and what precautions should be taken. I heard that there is a 90% chance that a baby born from a mother with a Thyroid problem will have brain damage - is this true?

Thank you.

No that is not true. The most imporant thing is for your thyroid levels to be normal throughot pregnancy, so you will need regular checks and to maintain your treatment.

Best wishes
