Thrombosed Pile

The Doc says I have a thrombosed pile. He has given me Scheriproct. He said it should go away in about a week. I have been using the ointment since Friday but have seen no improvement. What happens if it doesn' t go away?

Hallo Liz
Sometimes it needs to be drained. A pile is a varicose vein of the anus, a thrombosed pile is a varicose vein with a clot in it. He will refer you to a surgeon if this is needed. They make a small cut and remove the clot from the vein.
