Thirsty teenager

my 16 year son is very active, not overweight has been very thirsty over the last while. Drank 1 litre water before school. Shoudl I be concerned? should we run some tests?

If he is more thirsty than normal, or eating a lot and not picking up weight, it may be safer to just have his urine tested for sugar.
