the snip

Good day.

In a few weeks time i am going to be getting a little male basset. There are no other pets in my home, and i am worried that he may just start marking territory inside the house. If i get him " snipped"  at 6 months, do you think it will help for him to not do this?

Thank you.

Hi Kirsty

Castration may eliminate this behaviour. It is also important that you also implement a training programme prior to castration to to prevent marking.

Kind regards

Yes, castrating him at 6 months, before the testosterone kicks in should definitely prevent him from territory marking.
