Teenage sleeping problems

My teenage daughter, 16, experienced a stressful time with exams which caused insomnia. 10 mg Trepeline at 20:00 and 5 mg Zolpidem before bed time was subscribed. She is now supposed to be weaned off the medication, but seems to be dependant on the medication to sleep. Is there any alternatives? Or any other medication which can be subscribed as part of the weaning process?

This situation is best addressed using behavioural techniques, rather than medication. The use of the medication for the immediate situation was quite right, but now she needs to be assessed by a sleep doctor to decide the way forward.
