Teen - Back ache

My teenager has back ache off/on(left hand side on the waist area). She also complains about her tummy being sore. There is no pain or discomfort when passing urine. She had tonsilitis a week ago. Could this be kidney infection?

Hallo Gina
Kidney infection usually causes fever and chills, tenderness if you "thump" lightly over the kidney area with your fist, with funny smelling, cloudy urine. Backache can also be caused by muscle spasm. There are many things that can cause stomach ache - depending on where the pain is. If it persists your doctor should rather have a look and test urine to be 100% sure.
