TB??

Hello, our domestic lady here at work has informed us that her daughter is in hospital with TB. My question is, are any of us in the workplace at risk should she contract the disease?? Am i being paranoid. she is in contact with her daughter daily and i worry that she too might get this disease and pass it onto us??
Many thanks

Hallo Michelle
If the daughter is on treatment she will not be infective anymore, but one can ask the lady to go for screening to exclude TB. Phone your local municipal clinic and ask them on which days they do TB screening (usually a mobile X/ray clinic comes on a certain day of the month/week)This is feree of charge. Watch out for symptoms like chronic coughing > 1 week, weight loss and sweating.
