Tattoos and Skin

Would like to find out if it would be safe to tattoo (not inject) salt water into the skin where an older tattoo is in order to lighten the tattoo.

Is this safe and would it damage the skin in that area?

Salt water will irritate the skin and cause an inflammatory reaction, which can lead to permanent scarring. Rather consult a plastic surgeon to have the tattoo removed.
