You don't mention if this has always been how he sleeps, or if it has changed recently. It can be something as simple as him having gained weight, and tending to sleep on his back ( when losing weight and sleeping on his side, can help - and sewing a cotton reel or something similarly uncomfortable into the middle of the back of his pyjama tops, so he won't sleep on his back ). Or it can be something more complicated, like Sleep Apnoea, which needs more elaborate help ( though the wegith loss will still be useful ). Assessment by a physician interested in sleep disorders could be useful to rule out such more complex possibilities
