taking the morning after pill after 8 days

Hi. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and I haven''t got my period yet. He says I should take the morning after pill to induce my periods and its after 8 days, how does it work?

Use a condom! Having unprotected sex seems to cause pregnancy in case you didnt know. It also causes all sorts of other things that you cant just abort.
