Synap Forte Dangerous??

With the withdrawal of all medicines containing the substance dextropropoxyphene in Europe yesterday, can we still consider products like Synap Forte and Lentogesic to be safe? If it is considered too unsafe for Europe, then why has this not been banned in South Africa yet? Is it safe to continue using it?

It has been decided that drugs containing dextropropoxyphene should be withdrawn from the European market, due to misuse and potential lethal overdosing. This out weights the potential benefit of using this drug.

It has not been withdrawn from the South African market (consumers most propably more responsible) and is safe to use as directed.
