Dear Nondumiso
The problem about eating sweet foods when you are trying to lose weight is that most of them also contain a lot of fat (like chocolates, cakes, etc). If you are not slimming, you can have about 2 tablespoons of sugar a day (over breakfast cereal or in hot beverages)or eat 2 hard boiled sweets or 2 marshmallows a day to keep your sweet tooth at bay. Just don't start eating sweets all day long or in massive quantities. You can also try using artificially sweetened chewing gum because the 'sweet' taste 'fools' the body so that it feels more satisfied!
