Substitute for fruit

I really don' t like eating fruit, but I love the canned green beans and peas. Can I snack on the vegetables instead of fruit without putting on weight?

Dear Michelle
Generally speaking most vegetables have a lower energy content than fruits, so they are ideal foods when you are slimming. Eat carrot and celery sticks, baby tomatoes, cucumber wedges, the canned green beans or peas (frozen and thawed version are also good, as far fresh uncooked garden peas) and any other vegetable that you enjoy.
