stress fracture response

hi cyberdoc

i did see a sports physician and he suspects a stress fracture. i''m in denial, because i though this would be more painful. it is when i start brisk walking or running.he also mentioned the female athlete triad, which i am well aware of. i just dont feel " injured enough"  to not run, hence i am desperate to know whether an MRI is worth it. How much would that cost (no medical aid cover)?

Hallo RP,
It may differ from hospital to hospital and depends on exactly what they do - best would be to ask your sports physician to give you a quotation from the hospital that he usually uses. It is usually around R3000-R5000 but can be more if they do isotope scans.
