Stomach Poblems

My 9 year old son is constantly in the bathroom. After eating is immediately in the bathroom with a runny tummy. He does not use the bathroom facilities at school and the aftercare because he is too embarassed so he cannot wait to get home to get relief. It has been like this for as long as I know so I would assume it' s normal but now I am having second thoughts. Do I need to be concerned?
