Stiff legs

My husband is 46. he is slightly overweight and although he does not do exercise he works physically everday as he is a builder. He has very painful stiff legs - Lower - especially when he has been sitting for a while and stands up. What could this be?

If he does a hard physical type of work he may be developing arthritis in the knee and ankle joints. Ask your GP to examine him as x/rays of the knees may be necessary to determine if he has any signs of joint damage.
