spices during pregnancy

I''m 8 weeks pregnant and we ate some Indian food the other evening that contained cardamom, cumin and fennel...are these safe to eat during pregnancy??

Yes, they are quite safe.

Indian people who eat food with these in them all the time don''t stop doing so just because they are pregnant or breastfeeding. There is nothing wrong with eating spicy food while pregnant or breastfeeding.
Towards the end of your pregnancy, it might give you a bit of heart burn, but drinking milk helps or if it is really severe you can use Gaviscon.
