Speeding up metabolism?

Hi there,

I would like to know whether you can, in fact, speed up your metabolism by eating more regularly and what is it then, that you need to eat?

Thanks in advance!

Dear Maryo
The best way of speeding up your metabolism is by doing aerobic exercise such as skipping, jogging, brisk walking, swimming, or any other sport that increases your heart rate. This type of exercise not only increases your metabolism for the period during which you exercise, but also for 24 hours afterwards! As to eating more regularly, research which was carried out quite awhile ago, determined that so-called 'nibblers' who ate 6 or more small meals throughout the day, lost weight or found it easier to control their weight, than the so-called 'gorgers' who ate 3 large meals a day. If you do start nibbling, make sure that you eat healthy, low-fat foods preferably with a low-GI. You won't lose weight if you nibble on fatty, sugary snacks and take-aways. Click on 'Diet & Nutrition', then on 'Weightloss' and then on 'The Glycaemic Index' and read the articles on the GI.
