His best options would be a) to lose excess weight (being over weight is most often a cause of snoring, b) reduce his alcohol intake and avoid drinking any alcohol in the 4–5 hours before going to bed, c)try not to sleep on his back by when sleeping on
your back ("Train" him to sleep on his side by
tucking a pillow under his back or by sewing a tennis ball into the back of his nightclothes).
He should also avoid sleeping pills or sedative
antihistamines because they relax the soft palate, thereby worsening snoring.
