Sleeplessness with Diabetes Type 1

Hi

My girlfriend{27 years old} has Diabetes Type 1, and usually wakes up about 6 types at night. She has no problem falling asleep, but cant stay asleep. We have monitored her blood sugar levels at night, to make sure that she doesnt get a spike during night time, tested when she wakes up, and her sugar levels are normal. {Just to add, she was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 6 years ago, and has only slept one night through since then} We have tried sleeping tablets, changing the time she takes her long acting insulin, etc etc. I try different methods, like giving her a massage before bed time, getting her out in the open air and playing around outside so that we are tired... But still dont get to sleep a whole night. She is on a very controlled diet, so we are running out of options. She is exhausted when she wakes up in the mornings.

Please can you help us finding a way to sleep.

Your help is VERY much appreciated!

Thanking you in advance
