Sleeping with eyes slightly open

Why do children sometimes sleep with their eyes half-open and is there any reason to worry? My father believes it' s because they have worms. Is that a myth?

Thank you very much.

Dear P
No this has nothing to do with worms, and is not something to worry about if the child's eyelids are other wise healthy and working well when he/she is awake.
