skin problem

I have been advised by my GP to see a dermatologist to examine my skin. He did suggested that skin scraping might need to be done. What exactly is skin scraping and is it painfull?

Skin scrapings are not painful at all. It literally means that skin is scraped off the area of concern and is then sent away for analysis.
