Sibutamine (reductil / Cipla drug)

Dear Doc

Is this medication safe to use with other conditions such as Hypertension (controlled with the use of Co-Diovan medication) and hypothyroidism (treated with Eltroxin 0.1mg).?

Dear Dieter
According to my copy of MIMS, sibutramine is contra-indicated in uncontrolled hypertension and hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). As your hypertension is being controlled and you do not suffer from hyperthyroidism, you will probably be able to use sibutramine and an energy reduced diet. Do, however, discuss both these facts with the dr who will prescribe your sibutramine.
