Sharp pains in my head, last a few seconds

For the past few years i have had sharp pains in my head that only last a few seconds and then go away. They last a few seconds and then go away. It happens at any time of the day. Please help me.

This could be a type of migraine called an ice-pick headache. Best treatment is to try and prevent it by using certain antidepressants or anti-epileptic medications ( I know it sounds funny but it works!)
