There are a number of issues that require clarification...
1) how short is 'short'? Most men lose their erection after ejaculation, and the time to ejaculation may be around 2 minutes (often well before a female partner has become very aroused in heterosexual relationships)
2)if you are not ejaculating before losing your erection, is this only during sexual activity with a partner, or do you loose your erection during masturbation too? If it is the latter, then you need to have a physical check up to exclude any health problems. If it is the former, then you need to identify the possible psychological factors that make sex with a partner problematic for you.

More info please. It may be that you need to get your mind in the mood and keep it arouse by images of your partner that do arouse you or it could be some other health related issue (consult a doctor if this has been happening for a long time now)
