School Project

I''m doing a school project about the growth of the heart and I would like to know how long it takes for heart tissue (human and animal) to " die"  after removal from the body?

I would appreciate any relevant advice that you may offer.

Thanking you in advance.

Hallo Mike
If you keep the heart on ice it can be donated within 24 hours. Some organs like the kidneys can keep a few hours longer.
