scarlet fever

Dear Cyberdoc
My 3 year old son was diagnosed yesterday with SF
Apart from the temp and rash he is crying with a sore rectum as well.
Is this part of the illness?
It appears qute red,so i have applied vaseline
He is crying and rolling around obviosly in sever discomfort.
Please advise.

It is a common occurence due to the fact that the disease commonly affects the skin folds of the armpits and groin area. You can give him Sinap Forte syrup for the pain and discomfortn.
