Salt taste in mouth

My husband is complaining of having a salt taste in his mouth. What can be the cause of this ??

It is an unusual condition and there are a few reasons for this sensation. It can be caused by a bacterial sinusitis or tears that are drained through the tear ducts into the nasal cavity, which are then drained down the back of the throat. It is also possible that it is a phantom taste. I therefore, suggest that you exclude each of the possible causes one by one.
