Salt intake vs water intake

According to a article I read onte must not consume more than 2400mg salt per day. However what if you drink +/- 2lt water per day, can it be increased slightly, or does it not have an impact?

Dear Curious
If you are drinking more than 2,5 litres a day of liquid (which includes water and any other drinks you may consume) then you are actually overdoing your liquid intake and should rather cut down on liquid instead of increasing salt intake. It is important to keep in mind that most processed foods contain large amounts of salt or sodium, so that you will in any case be ingesting more than 2,4 g of salt/sodium a day. If it is very hot and you do increase your liquid intake above 2,5 L per day and if you sweat a lot then a slight increase of sodium intake may be warranted, but don't overdo things as excessive salt/sodium intake can increase blood pressure and potentially harm the kidneys.
