S-CA 125 blood test

My mom was recently hospitalized &  they found a cyst in her abdomen. They did a S-CA 125 blood test &  on the results it states 13.0 U/ml. What does this mean? The specialist phoned to say that she has to go &  see the oncologist &  we are absolutely freaking out. Could you please give some info?

CA125 is a test done to help with the diagnosis of ovarian cancer. A value of less than 35 is usually regarded as normal. Any cyst in a woman over 50 is regarded as suspicious and this is why she has probably been referred to an oncologist.
