Dear Heels
2 thin slices of rye bread per day will certainly not hamper weightloss. Rye bread has a low-GI and should promote weightloss. It is usually not the carbs that cause weight gain, but the fats we add to carbs, such as butter, margarine, mayonnaise, cream, fatty spreads, etc. Carbs like rye bread provide 16 kJ/gram, while fats provide 37 kJ/gram - a great difference.

as far as bread goes rye is your best option, it keeps you fuller for longer and dont contain wheat.

2 slices a day are fine.

like Lee says stay away from cheese and high fat toppings

Never! but depends - thin is relative but jokes aside it is what you put on the rye that matters most. Butter, mayonaise, salami - will definitely hamper weight loss.
