Rusks

I''m trying to lose weight. Are rusks really fattening? Is it okay to eat three in the morning?

Dear Anne
If you bake or buy rusks with a high-fibre or bran content then you can probably eat one to two a day, but keep in mind that according to the SA Food Tables white rusks contain 1790 kJ per 100g and commercial bran rusks contain 1655 kJ per 100g, so if you start eating more and more of these rusks you could sabotage your diet.
