Ridges on toenails.

I have horizontal ridges on my toenails - I believe they are called beau lines. The ridge positions are near enough identical on both feet, and are raised so they look wavey.
I' m concerned as my family have a history of heart diease (early onset) and I' ve heard they can indicate this.
However, I also have psoriasis - which I' ve heard can be a factor. But from what I' ve read, this causes ' pitting'  rather than lines and I don' t have psoriasis anywhere near my feet?

Thanks for your time,

Lin (aged 27)

Hallo Lindsay
Ridges on nails can be caused by the fever in an infection, malnutrition, zinc or iron deficiency, anemia, injury, medication, and certain diseases like diabetes and heart disease. If you are worried about heart disease, rather go for a medical examination by your GP to exlude it
