Ridgeback Puppy - what age to sleep outside from

Hi,'
Hope you can help. A friend has just got a new Ridgeback puppy of about 8/9 weeks old on Sunday. She has a male of about 3 and a female of about 9 who sleep outside in big kennels. The male took a bit of notice of the puppy....the female has yet to acknowledge her but am sure she will finally come around. She would like the puppy to obviously sleep outside in the kennel with either one or both of the other dogs, however with them not having taken to her she was left alone in a huge kennel and subsequently howled until brought in. Is she not perhaps a bit too young to sleep outside (irrespective with other dogs or not), at what age should a puppy sleep outside from as I' ve heard that even at 12 weeks their temperature aren' t regulated properly. Should the puppy perhaps sleep indoors in the kitchen until she is a bit older, and if so until what age? Please can you advise.
Thx
Sharon

Dear Sharon

The puppy should be fine with the other dogs at night and warm enough. The sooner the better.

i am not a bit fan of putting pups outside to sleep alone all night, but that is a personal opinion. perhaps your friend could put extra bedding in the kennel such as an old duvet or blanket that makes the kennel more like a nest and smells of people. this may make the transition easier for the pup.
