Relaxed german shephard

I have an unusual problem, my german shephard of 5 years refuses to bark, growl or in any other way try to protect our home. Is there something I can do to awaken his so called natural protective instinct?

Hi Brendan

At this stage I do not think that there is anything you can do to "awaken" protective behaviour in your dog. It might be advisable to get another dog (consider adoption?) or improve your security.
