Raw Food Diets

Hi Diet Doc

Please tell me what is your opinion on raw food diets for health and weight loss.

Raw food diets are perfectly acceptable provided you don't try and eat all foods (e.g. potatoes) raw as some foods need to be cooked to make them safe for human consumption. Raw and non-raw diets will only promote weightloss if your energy intake is reduced, so you would need to combine the raw foods with a low-fat intake too and preferably do regular exercise to lose weight.
