Raspy voice

Hello - I would like to find out if chronic dry coughing (nervous habit and not due to anything else) can cause a raspy voice - not quite hoarse, but rough ?? Thank you.

Sorry, actually I mean t''s more CROAKY now, not hoarse (it''s still very much there, just different).
